Terms of Service

  • • These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the DashCan website, mobile application, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using DashCan, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
  • • If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Service Description

  • • DashCan provides scheduled pickup services for eligible recyclable materials from residential and commercial locations. DashCan facilitates the collection, processing, and payout for approved recyclables subject to operational constraints.
  • • DashCan does not guarantee pickup times, payout amounts, material acceptance, or service availability, which may vary based on location, material condition, contamination, access, and market conditions.

2. Eligibility

  • • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using DashCan, you represent that you are legally able to enter into this agreement.

3. Accepted and Prohibited Materials

  • • DashCan accepts only approved recyclable materials as displayed within the application.
  • • The following materials are strictly prohibited:
    • • Hazardous or toxic waste
    • • Electronic waste (e-waste)
    • • Batteries
    • • Medical or biohazardous waste
    • • Chemicals or liquids
    • • Construction or demolition debris
  • • DashCan reserves the right to refuse service, discard prohibited materials, or reduce payouts without compensation if prohibited or unsafe materials are present

4. Material Quality & Contamination

  • • All recyclable materials must be reasonably clean and free from excessive contamination.
  • • Materials deemed contaminated, unsafe, or non-recyclable may result in reduced or zero payout and may be removed at DashCan's discretion.

5. Scheduling, Cancellations, and No-Shows

• Residential Pickups

  • • Free cancellation up to 24 hours before scheduled pickup
  • • Cancellations within 24 hours may result in a $5 deduction from the recycling payout
  • • Same-day cancellations or failure to provide materials ("No-Show") may result in a $10 deduction, applied to the current or future payout

• Business Pickups

  • • Free cancellation up to 24 hours before scheduled pickup
  • • Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a $10–$25 service fee, depending on account size and volume
  • • No-Shows may result in the full pickup fee being charged
  • • Fees may be deducted from payouts, billed to a saved payment method, or applied to a monthly invoice

6. Insufficient Payout Balance

  • • If the payout for a pickup is less than the applicable fee, DashCan may carry forward the remaining balance and deduct it from future payouts.

7. Payouts & Estimates

  • • All payout amounts displayed in the application are estimates only.
  • • Final payouts are based on:
    • • Actual material weight
    • • Material type
    • • Market rates at time of processing
  • • DashCan reserves the right to modify payout rates at any time without prior notice.

8. Access, Safety, and Property Conditions

  • • Customers are responsible for providing safe, clear, and reasonable access to pickup locations.
  • • DashCan is not responsible for missed pickups due to:
    • • Locked gates
    • • Unsafe conditions
    • • Loose or unsecured animals
    • • Inaccessible materials
  • • DashCan is not liable for normal wear to driveways, walkways, or collection areas.

9. Photos, Estimates, and AI Tools

  • • Photos submitted by users may be used to estimate material type, quantity, and improve service accuracy.
  • • DashCan may use automated tools or artificial intelligence to assist with estimation and routing. All AI-based estimates are non-binding and subject to verification.
  • • DashCan does not use user-submitted photos for advertising without consent.

10. Payments & Third-Party Services

  • • DashCan may use third-party payment processors. DashCan does not store full payment card information and is not responsible for third-party service failures.

11. Limitation of Liability

  • • To the fullest extent permitted by law, DashCan shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of the Service.
  • • DashCan's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid or payable for the affected pickup.

12. Indemnification

  • • You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DashCan from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:
    • • Prohibited materials
    • • Unsafe conditions
    • • Misrepresentation of materials
    • • Violation of these Terms

13. Termination

  • • DashCan reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for operational reasons.

14. Modifications to Terms

  • • DashCan may update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted in the app or on the website. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

  • • These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
